Does NotesXD record my meetings?

No. NotesXD does not record audio. It transcribes speech to text in real time, on your device, and discards the audio immediately.

Does transcription work offline?

Transcription runs locally on your Mac. AI chat and voice conversations need an internet connection because they use Google Gemini, sending only the necessary context fragments.

What happens when my Pro trial ends?

You move to the free plan and keep notes and tasks. Pro features (live transcription, AI chat, voice, active listening, calendar alerts) pause until you activate Pro.

Which features are free?

Notes, the rich-text editor, tasks with priority and due dates, and calendar-linked notes are free. Transcription, AI chat and voice conversations are Pro.

Can I use voice without hearing the bot?

Yes. Turn on silent mode to mute the assistant's voice — you still speak and it still replies in text and runs actions. The setting is remembered and can be changed in Settings.

Can the AI delete my notes?

It can delete a single note only after you confirm on screen. It will not delete all notes or a group of notes.

Why can't the AI see a file I attached?

Make sure the file finished importing. Very large files are capped for speed; open the specific note and the assistant can read its full content. Supported formats include PDF, images (OCR), Word/Pages and JSON/CSV/XML.

How many notes can I store?

Notes are stored in a local database, so capacity is effectively limited only by your Mac's available disk space — far more than typical note-taking needs.
